Lemnul stratificat se obtine prin suprapunerea si lipirea prin presare a mai multor straturi de lemn natural. Fiecare strat este obtinut prin debitarea radiala a lemnului, iar adezivul folosit este unul special, rezistent la apa. Rezultatul este o structura rigida si stabila, in care deformarile si modificarile de volum ale fiecarui strat sunt anihilate de catre celelalte straturi.
